He nar tera es jahan vich koi na sathi belee ey; Tere naal kise nahi jana jaani jind akeli ey. Mata rondi reh jani ey chuk lai jana bhayiyan ne; Maar duhttharh rove vahuti jhoothiyan haal duhayiyan ne. Tere keete amlan bande naal hi tere jana ey; Kahe avtar prabhu bin sara jhootha tana baana ey. |

O' man, none is your friend and companion in this world; None shall go with you, and your soul shall go alone. The mother shall stay back bemoaning, while the brothers shall remove your corpse; Your wife shall beat her thighs and cry, but all her bewailing shall be futile. O' man, your own actions shall go with you as you depart from this world; Avtar says, except God, the entire net-work of the world is false. |
Meaning
Here Baba Avtar Singh ji explains that while one is living, nothing except your actions are important, rest all relationships etc will stay here, nothing will go with you when you die.
One should know that no-one is your friend and companion in this world, no-one shall go with you, and your soul shall go alone.
The mother shall stay back bemoaning, while the brothers shall remove your corpse. Your wife shall beat her thighs and cry, but all her bewailing shall be futile.
Only your actions shall go with you as you depart from this world. Also except God, the entire network of the world is false as it is not going with you anywhere.
